Blackberry Storm Adjustments for Speed

So I just picked up the Blackberry Storm the other day. My first 'smartphone'. I didn't think that these phones were THAT smart though! I must say that I am thoroughly impressed at how bad-ace this thing is. There are a lot of die hard iPhone people that need to jump off something very high because the little feuding is annoying. Who cares if your screen can swipe from side to side and make you appear useful when no one can find correct directions.

I digress, the Storm does have a little bit of lag when clicking to and fro but here are some adjustments that I found really make the Storm more crisp.

First off, you have to download the "QuickPull" application from Crackberry or App. World. This really seem to help with freeing up some memory. Hence, making the phone run fast. I would also have to say that downloading a bunch of applications isn't going to help your phone's performance either. It will actually make your phone feel old and crappy.

Also, if you go to Options->Screen/Keyboard->Touchscreen, set Tap Interval to 100, set Hover Period to 100, set Swipe Sensitivity to (High) 6. Aparrently setting the shortest tap interval allows the device to register screen taps just a little faster. Setting the Hover Period to a shorter time means that when you just touch the screen , the screen focus moves to under where your finger is touching faster. And finally, setting a higher Swipe Sensitivity makes the device feel more responsive when you do a scroll.

I highly recommend Viigo if you have some awesome forums or feeds that you like to stay posted on. Also, TweetCaster is amawzing for staying updates on tweets. It is very user-friendly and updates in lightening speed. Other than that I think any free "Flashlight" program would do you some good. They come in handy when things fall on the floor of your car or need some help getting to the bathroom at 3am.

Slowly but surely I am getting comfortable with this bad boy. It seems like I only know about half of what the Storm can actually do.
