Tour de Albuquerque

Sjouke and I took off yesterday at 11am for a bike ride that we planned on starting at 7am. That's us. This is a road ride... so you know it's going to be long... both of our bikes run like the perfect mechanical stallions that they are... NO EXCUSES. If you are not familiar with the Albuquerque area then I can only describe the ride as a brutal 70 mile ball breaker that takes you from the highest western part of town, down through the valley and up to the foothills of the eastern mountains. Then from there we headed south down the side of Albuquerque where we continued at an average of 28mph til we arrived at the southern neighborhoods. From there we headed down into the valley and rode up the Cesar Chavez climb. It was here that we both dropped the bikes, took off our packs, and layed back first onto the road for fear of puking. Yes, we have maxed out our hearts. Then, in what I can only describe as a meditative state we hammered up to the Westside neighborhoods.. home free after that.

These guys know about the meditative state.

Lance Armstrong and Marco Pantani battling it out on Ventoux. My legs burn at the thought.
